How to be Confident in Your Body

All across the globe, girls are constantly struggling to be happy and confident in what they look like, what they wear, and how they act. However, feeling confident comes from within and should not be derived from outer beauty.

Here are 4 tips on how to boost your confidence levels:


  1. Everybody has body issues, don’t make them a priority!

A lot of girls struggle with the way they look in the mirror. Almost every girl including the “perfect” ones have image issues. Taylor Swift once said, “I definitely have body issues, but everybody does. When you come to the realization that everybody does that—even the people I consider “flawless”—you can start to live with the way you are.” Embrace what you’ve got and don’t let anyone tell you that you are less than perfect! If you start to realize that body issues aren’t as big of a deal as they seem, you can become a much more confident person.

  1. Lose the toxic relationships.


Don’t let your body image or the way you look get in the way of expressing the beautiful you that’s present on the inside. Everyone is unique and beautiful in his or her own way. If someone doesn’t like you for the real you, don’t change for him or her! You don’t need people in your life who are constantly bringing you down and making you feel less confident. Not everyone shares the same opinions, and it’s OK to be different! Surround yourself with the people that make you smile and love the true you—losing your confidence for one person is not worth it!

  1. Feel comfortable in what you wear.


Most girls feel the need to keep up with the latest fashion trends, for if they don’t, they fear being seen as “not cool”. Girls sacrifice their comfort just to keep up with the latest trends that they may not even like. But in order to be confident, you need to feel confident in your clothes. Wear clothes that flatter your figure, not someone else’s figure. If you don’t want to wear something, don’t! Celebrities such as Shailene Woodley, Zendaya, Julia Roberts, Madonna, and many more have shown that you don’t have to stick to fashion to rock an outfit. These women have worn tuxedos to public award shows to express that they can wear whatever they want, as long as they feel comfortable and confident.

  1. Don’t compare yourself to others.


Whether it be friends or Victoria’s Secret models, don’t compare what you are to what they are. You may find that others are more successful, smarter, and braver than you are, but that shouldn’t impact any of your decisions. You should focus on what works for you. Even if somebody else gets a better grade on a test, that doesn’t mean he or she will be more successful in the future. Don’t compare what you have, do, look like, or feel with others. That can make you much less confident and it’s just not worth it. Improve yourself for yourself, not so that you can be like someone else.

Keep in mind that being confident starts from within. Follow these tips to boost your confidence and become a happier you. Being a little more confident day by day can really make a difference on how you see the world and how you face it. Nothing should be a competition! Aspire to be the best you that you can be. Rock what you’re confident in and don’t let anyone bring you down!
